Sheri was born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, in a little town called Itasca. Her grandfather was a dentist in World War II, where he served in the Army as a dentist in Wales. She loved to spend time with him at his dental office, which was in her grandparents’ home in Itasca. Sheri has been in the dental industry since 1997 where she started as an orthodontic dental assistant. She then went back to college to be a dental hygienist. She attended the College of Lake County in northern Illinois. Her clinical training was performed at the Great Lakes Naval Base. She received her Associate in Dental Hygiene in 2005 and started working in private practice. She then obtained her Bachelor of Dental Hygiene Education from Dixie State University in 2011. She also worked part time as a dental hygiene instructor at the College of Lake County. She remained at both jobs, part time, until her family relocated to Florida in 2012.
Sheri found her dental home shortly after moving to Florida working for Dr Janice Brand, until she retired in 2022. She has been with Dr. Shiva Soleimani since she opened Solay Dental. Sheri is also a part time dental hygiene instructor at St Petersburg College and completed her Master’s in Education degree in 2022. She splits her time between Solay Dental and teaching clinical dental hygiene, radiology, and nutrition. Educating patients and students is a true passion and she truly loves what she does.
Sheri loves working with patients and educating them on the importance of good oral health. She feels very lucky to be working with Dr. Soleimani & Dr. Beltran, they are both excellent dentists. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association and is a lifelong learner, committed to ongoing learning and is equipped to deliver the highest quality of care to her patients.
When she’s not working or teaching, you can find Sheri and her husband, Andy, RV camping somewhere with her four grandchildren. Almost the whole family is here, and she loves spending time with them.
