Teeth with extensive damage that affects their structural integrity and ability to function correctly might benefit from the fabrication and placement of a custom dental crown.
Dental crowns are commonly used in general and restorative dentistry to offer an extra layer of protection and strength. At the same time, they are made of biocompatible and beautiful materials such as porcelain to ensure they look just like the rest of the natural teeth. Also known as caps, dental crowns are used over the visible crown of the natural tooth structure.
Our Process
To prepare for dental crowns, your dentist, Dr. Shiva Soleimani, will remove enamel from all sides of the tooth. Then, impressions create a mold of the natural tooth structure to ensure the final restoration will fit precisely in place. Finally, a ceramist fabricates the new restoration in a laboratory based on the dentist’s instructions on size, shape, and color to create a custom-created restoration for the patient.
Patients return to the dental office to have the crown bonded and obtain information on how to properly care for their crown to ensure it lasts as long as possible!
